Wind energy from trains pass device wiring harnesses

If you think of wind energy, think you huge turbines harness large breezes. But industrial designers developed in China, can capture a device which washed the wind from the trains as on the way. The "T-box" device is installed between railway sleepers and buried half-u-Bahn to normal train operation, do not affect. As the train passes overhead, the noise of wind spins a turbine in the T-box to generate electricity.

Creator of Qian Jiang and Alessandro Leonetti Luparini say that 150 T-boxes along one kilometre (0.62 miles) could be installed to the railway or u-Bahn track which use otherwise wasted wind resource.

A train 125 mph would travel about the wind speed is equivalent to almost 50 meters / second produce. The T-box would this wind, it is turbines produce approximately 3,500 Watts performance capture. When the train was about 656 meters long, travel was approximately 187 km/h and more and more that 2.6 kilowatt generating electricity to 1 km (.062 km) route, the T-box about.

The device could potentially provide electricity to remote and underserved areas or facilities along the railway.

Designers say the turbine in based on models with sound around a central axis in the T-box enclosure cylinder rotating of Hetronix, made. Much of the device would be for rent underground, with only the cam in the wind

The T-box design won a silver medal in the last year's Lite-on awards and was first shown last summer in the Xue Xue Institute in Taipei, Taiwan.
