In a widely-used video last week, billionaire GoDaddy CEO Bob Parsons brags about shooting to a bull "problem elephant" in Zimbabwe, but one of the leading elephant experts said discovery news, that the animal probably was a young woman.
Parsons is shown during the video, shoot the elephants and then against his body, gun casually leaning the head smiling.
"The 'bull', that GoDaddy CEO, Mr Bob Parsons, test on apparently a young woman," said Joyce Poole, an elephant researcher and conservationist, the animals for over 30 years studied. Poole initially worked in the Amboseli National Park under the mentorship of elephants Cynthia Moss expert and Director of research and conservation in ElephantVoices is now.
"The video is low resolution, but skinny tusks of the elephant and the lack of male genitalia, which would have been visible, leave me with little doubt," Poole said. "Mr Parsons was so ignorant that he sex he was killed not in the position, the elephant, or his claim that the elephant was a bull just one example of his macho arrogance and misjudgment?"
"The fact that he put out his video for the whole world to see both shows", they added.
The video suggests this is second year of elephants in Africa to kill Parsons. He describes himself a hero, release villagers of "aggressive" Bull elephants, their sorghum harvest raid.
Elephant specialists, however believe that such hunters are actually putting are villagers and others who meet the pachyderms in more danger.
"What people need to realize that elephant is very traumatized when one of their family members is shot," said Johnny Rodrigues, Chairman of the Zimbabwe conservation task force, discovery messages. "they have very good memories and the trauma makes them aggressive towards people, which is dangerous for tourists."
"The elephants I noticed have a certain change in behavior in the Hwange National Park as the shooting began there" added Rodrigues, grew up on a farm in Zimbabwe. "Before you could drive through the Park and stop and look at an elephant for quite some time." This never bothered the elephants. "Well, if you stop to look at, an elephant, very often, will he be very excited and calculate."
Poole agrees, saying that "the elephant of retaliation are fully capable, such killing conservation, may endanger villagers, and all the potential benefits."
Elephants are life in tightly knit social groups, which contain their descendants under the worldwide to the most intelligent animals, with the females. Adult male elephants live mostly solitary lives, but lots of associations with other males can make. Research has shown that men and women for lost relatives and Associates, remembering the death of long periods of time to grieve.
In 2009 an estimated Zimbabwe full control authority parks 100,000 there elephants are now in the country, but Rodrigues says that a proper examination not there has been in years. He estimated the elephant population as approximately 35,000 to 40,000.
If ever an elephant 'Overpopulation' problem, said it he can "Contraceptives female elephants are administered."
Parsons' video feasting on the dead elephant, ends with many people edited AC/DC music on the scene. Rodrigues, but says that other meat protein sources are healthier and more sustainable, "such as beef, goat, chicken and fish."
Encounters between humans and these large animals will continue to continue to expand countries populations, in elephant. The human population of 181 million in the last decade was in India for example. Now, elephants are decreasing numbers in India, according to Poole, in due course mostly descending Habitat.
"Wildlife management authorities continue to so-called"problem"to shoot the elephants until the last elephant is extinct and still the food solve challenge," said Poole, adding that other problems, such as such as poor land planning, corrupt regimes and climate change, further complicate the situation.
She concluded "as a global community concerned we us with these questions should rather than continue to destroy debt and elephants."
