(TRIPOLI, April 19, Xinhua)-UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Monday said that Libya had allowed humanitarian UN presence in Tripoli.
Prohibition, at a press conference in Budapest, said Libyan authorities green light had been UN "humanitarian presence" in Tripoli.
Ban said his Special Envoy to Libya A. al-Khatib and under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and emergency aid, Valerie Amos, had agreed with Libyan officials.
Ban outlined to support the efforts of the UN World Food Programme, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other bodies in Libya, particularly in the areas of strong by fighting devastated.
He said the United Nations had three goals in Libya: to achieve an immediate and effective cease-fire, humanitarian assistance to all those in need to expand and to continue political dialogue and to reach a political solution.
The United Nations, a humanitarian presence in the rebels already established held stronghold of Benghazi in eastern Libya.
Under-Secretary General Amos said that the Libyan Government had also allowed her access to conflict-torn Misurata, the only town or in part by rebels in Government-controlled western Libya held.
